Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, does anyone have or know where I can find the How to video of the guy who moved his spoiler switch from the Fuse Panel to the dash? I have seen it but now that I have all the parts assembled I can't find it again. FWIW, 2004 996 C4S Cabriolet. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

This is on my holiday to-do list and this is what I had bookmarked (although I'll be doing mine a little different); https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-relocate.html

I think Renntech.org has a DIY for that.

Here's the DIY on Renntech: https://www.renntech.org/tutorials/a...il-switch-mod/ some more info: https://www.renntech.org/topic/7071-...il-switch-mod/ https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...er-switch.html

POST 5Original post

I did that recently, best mod I've ever done on the car!

POST 6Original post

Very cool & very easy to do. Took me maybe 20 minutes? Now I just have 2 blank switches left (on the dash). Wish there were more simple things to fill them with.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the help guys. I have the switch all wired and I have 2 more questions. Do you guys who have done this mod have to hold the switch in order for the spoiler to move? If I let go, it stops moving. Also, did you guys also wire the lights? The lights are not that important to me, I don't drive the car that much at night. Just curious. Thanks again.

How about a rocket launcher switch

I haven't done the spoiler switch yet but I did do a garage door opener switch with illumination wired in (bottom switch left side. I tapped into another switch using a female spade to double male spade connector. See bottom right.

Im filling one with a rear wiper switch. Dont have a rear wiper, but Im planning to hook it up as a kill switch 👍

POST 11Original post

Can someone tell me why they would move the spoiler switch ? I've never felt the need to manually activate it :dunno:

Because it's cool to F around with your car! The manual switch was put in the worst possible place one could be. What where the engineers thinking when they designed the 996?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
