Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I ran a durametric a while ago to see what temps looked like during some spirited driving and everything seemed right within spec.

Oh, and when I took the bumper off I didn't have to pull the condensers off to clean behind them!

Then the next day you have acorns, leaves and all sorts of nesting material back behind your fresh, clean rads and condensers.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Decided to replace the screen mesh I had rigged up two years ago. It did it's job, but looked ugly and made the bumper not fit correctly.
I'm very happy with the new grills, not perfect, but a bunch better than the screen that was there before!
Oh, and when I took the bumper off I didn't have to pull the condensers off to clean behind them! The screen did it's job!
Also, this is a 03 C2 with Tip, so I have the center radiator.
So I purchased a box of this from Amazon:
AggAuto Universal Car Grill Mesh
AggAuto Universal Car Grill Mesh
Make sure you order the right size:
Took the bumper off and removed all the old screen mesh, cleaned everything up.
Made a template from cardboard and cut the screen.
Realized that I could put the new screens in after I installed the bumper.
So reinstalled the bumper, then installed the new screens.
Here's a pic of the mesh after cutting, the snips I used to cut it, and the small ties used to hold the side ones in place.
Here's some pics of the finished product. I drove it the other day and they stayed in place just fine.
But Bruce, you, of all people; know how vicious those dang Texas squirrels are. They’ll eat right through those vinyl screens if you look at ‘em funny next time you leave your driveway. Then the next day you have acorns, leaves and all sorts of nesting material back behind your fresh, clean rads and condensers. Those squirrels are gonna be getting ready for the next catastrophic Texas power outage.
Nice job! I did the same thing on my turbo bumper. If you ever wanted to get rid of the zip ties, I used hot glue on the inside of the bumper with great success. Looks nice and clean. When I took off the bumper recently, things were very clean and didn't warrant much cleaning. 40AE cars came with larger turbo radiators so in my case temps have been rock solid throughout the year.
I haven't. They probably do but not to a significant enough point that would have me concerned. And probably far less than a filthy radiator with all kind of crap living there potentially causing corrosion. You'd be surprised how quickly junk flies in there, especially in the fall, and how ineffective the vacuum method is at removing them. They serve their purpose. I ran a durametric a while ago to see what temps looked like during some spirited driving and everything seemed right within spec.
Yes, those Texas Squirrels are pretty tough.
This squirrel is waiting on delivery of a whole house generator.
Thats my Christmas present to myselfbut I have to wait an extra 3 weeks before it is delivered.
