Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I swapped only because that’s what my future engine builder (Jake) recommends.
Leading evidence: 'Replace only' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace drivability' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

My K&N will get replaced with the 997.2 (3.8) when the R40 goes in.

I bought my IPD plenum from Pelican Parts and used my 1-time PCA 10% discount.

and I do feel it didn’t change my drivability from the K&N system that was on it before

What does a used IPD Competition Plenum and GT3 Throttle body set sell for along with IPD Air Intake Silicone Hose?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just installed the competition intake and it really does beautify the engine compartment but pics of it installed in other cars are almost nonexistent does anyone have it and can you give feedback on it
thanks Mike
This is their Porsche cup competition set up NLA so far
I’ve only seen it for sale at vivid motor sport there is a fabspeed video onYT
im looking for anyone else who had or has it
The OEM intake draws cooler air from the outside on the engine compartment while the one you show draws hot air from inside the engine compartment. So while it may look good functionally it is a downgrade IMHO!
While it looks nice, it is a downgrade functionally because it draws hot air from the engine compartment. You would be better off returning it and getting your money back. This is actually going to be a performance downgrade.
I had the EVOMS cold air intake that routes air from the decklid to the cone filter. Even though it looked and sounded cool, there was likely no performance benefit to that either.
It's not fun to hear that it doesn't help (and likely loses power), but it's still true...
Ok guys I get it I don’t need or want more power I’m happy
what I do need is actual user of my exact single pipe and their real world experience with the exact setup I have
because I can’t find any info about it so I’m asking current or past users
my system is different just trying to get more info
thanks and have a merry Christmas
Ill lead off with Merry Christmas since I dont have anything particularly useful to tell you...(except Merry Christmas🎄
. I think the fact that no one has chimed in should be a (good) indication of its popularity... Anyway, if you like it thats all that matters! Looks cool 👍
What are you looking for exactly, What do you want to hear people say?
It looks cool and sounds great but, it has a downside that you don't care about and that's ok.
The factory air box is a proven design and the next gen (997) is even better...
Your FS unit is most likely no different than my K&N unit (sounds awesome when you get on it hard) but it sucks hot air that reduces power.
My K&N will get replaced with the 997.2 (3.8) when the R40 goes in.
Enjoy it for what it is.
Merry Christmas!
What I want is someone that owned or owns my EXACT system since I can’t find any info on line other then fabspeed video and asking them about their experience with it
my car now has the K&N system and while I liked it the fabspeed just looked nicer
so I need real experiences from owners
if I owned an R40 I would go your route as well
I bought mine new.
But you can buy the GT3 throttle body cheaper than from IPD.(or resellers)
Thats what I did, I bought my Bosch 997 GT3 throttle body for under $120 from carparts.com
I bought my IPD plenum from Pelican Parts and used my 1-time PCA 10% discount.
I sold my used Fabspeed intake for enough to buy the IPD plenum.
I did the post has my car with it installed in the pic #1 included video also
Im wondering why this didnt sell in greater #s its no different in performance of my old K&N system
so my question again why did you like or dislike it. Very simple question
because there is no real info on line so past owner might answer my questions
I always thought the single filter version was an older version.
I haven’t seen it on Fabspeed’s website the last 4 years.
Could it have been NOS?
I prefer the dual air filter version looks-wise.
My current 997 Carrera S airbox is nice, but doesn’t look half as nice as my old Fabspeed intake.
I never had any issues with IAT, even in Houston stop and go traffic during the summer.
I swapped only because that’s what my future engine builder (Jake) recommends.
Sometimes you just listen to people who own their own dyno and have TONS of experience and ignore your own limited experience.
Like others said, few people run this intake for a reason and it's why you're not getting much feedback and probably won’t. I think the single pipe model was specific to the 3.4L or an earlier intake model vs the newer 2 pipe / filter version. Are you having buyers remorse and want someone to tell you you made the right decision? I'm not sure what you're looking to get from this thread. It's really simple = if YOU like it, keep it and enjoy your intake. If you want an honest feedback, then OEM is superior in terms of functionality and I think it looks right. Cone filters tend to scream "aftermarket". Some like it some don't. If this is not sufficient then go pay for a dyno session to compare numbers and start a poll for the look of it if you really care what others think about your intake.
Thanks pi I do love it
and I do feel it didn’t change my drivability from the K&N system that was on it before
I wasn’t looking for validation just feedback from other owners
but I guess your right I don’t care about others negative opinions especially from those who don’t have answers with ownership
thanks
