Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, I am a new owner of a 2008 911 4S with 40K miles. I have had the car for only three days and today when I tried to use the windshield wiper spray it didn't work. The headlights spray works. The car was parked outside in New England weather.lows 28 degree. The reservoir was almost empty so I filled it up. Could it be iced up or clogged or is it a mechanical issue? I searched the forums and and couldn't find a post that fits the exact symptoms above. Thank you.

POST 2Original post

U may want to post this in the 997 forum as thats what your car series is. But if its similar to a 996 there r 2 pumps in the tank. Either the windshield pump its not getting power or the pump is bad. U would have to remove the drivers front wheel and the liner. The tank is in the back of the wheel well to diagnose.

POST 3Original post

If the 997 is similar to the 996, I had this issue and it was a broken T inside the battery box area where the hosing for the washers connected. It WAS getting pump pressure, but I was just washing the battery compartment and it was draining onto the ground below the vehicle. Easy fix thankfully!

Can you hear the pump turn on and does water leak out under the car when you activate the window washer? if yes than there is a breakdown in the tubing or connectors from the pump to the sprayers. if no than as da jeeper said it’s either no power to the pump (check the fuse) or the pump has gone bad. the reservoir, pump and most of the tubing can be seen once you remove the driver side front wheel and liner (there are like 4 screws and 6 plastic trim anchors in the liner). Takes about 5 minutes to take off and 10 to line everything up right to get it back on.

Thank you everyone. Moving to 997.
