Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

FWIW I'm running Copper Zeon RS3A tires which IMO are at least as good, if not better for daily driving (and less expensive) than the Continental DWS tires I had originally on those wheels.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What is going to hold up with our high off-set wheels?
Are 17s a serious consideration for a real DD?
If you mean what will hold up as in not break, all of the stock choices both 18" and 17" are just fine and I am not aware of any significant issues with any of them that would stop me using them.
That being said, if your roads are REALLY bad or the expansion joints really severe, a 17" wheel will deliver a smoother ride than an 18" but obviously be less good for cornering etc., all other things being equal.
I was thinking factory 17" since the most exciting part of the commute is just being in the car and dodging known road hazard and occasionally finding a new one the hard way.
Thanks for the observation Mark I.
I'm leaning really heavy toward 17" now. Getting a bit older and don't have the need to feel like I'm racing all the time to enjoy the car.
I have the 17"
Sport Edition Cup 4
wheels (Tire Rack) which have been discussed in other threads. Those use OEM lug bolts & center caps and have held up really well. FWIW I'm running Copper Zeon RS3A tires which IMO are at least as good, if not better for daily driving (and less expensive) than the Continental DWS tires I had originally on those wheels. Whatever you decide; hope it works out.
