Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After having the alarm module replaced, which was damaged by flooding due to clogged drain holes, the engine compartment doesn't open and the horn doesn't honk when I lock the car. Are those controlled by another module?

POST 2Original post

Did you have the alarm module programmed to the DME/ECU? Who did the work?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Porsche.

And what did Porsche say about ur problem..?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They said theyd do a diagnostic, that it might be a different module involved.

The alarm module/immobilizer controls the lock/unlock aspect of both the engine compartment and the confirmation beep of the horn when you lock the car. Take it back to Porsche, it's not right.

POST 8Original post

It probably burnt up the compartment unlock actuator by staying on constantly until it killed the battery due to a wet alarm control module.. The alarm horn is mounted next to the battery in the well that also gets flooded if the cowl drains are stopped up...The alarm horn probably stayed underwater for quite some time during the flooding.. All probably associated to the flooding, I have seen it before. But still it would have been nice if they had checked ALL the functions before giving the car back to you...
