Looks like a previous owner had fitted titanium manifold studs to my 996, combined with standard steel nuts and UK weather unfortunately.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks like a previous owner had fitted titanium manifold studs to my 996, combined with standard steel nuts and UK weather unfortunately. Basically all the studs came out of the block via the fused nut. Any tips for getting the nuts off?

POST 2Original post

Get two nuts with the same threads as the block side threads on the stud. Put them on the Blok side threads and tighten them against each other very tightly. Put the double nuts in a vise and apply heat to the manifold nut, then unscrew it.

POST 5Original post

And put some anti seize or similar on the exposed to the elements threads so you can remove in the future .
