This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Seems to improve induction sound, but I can feel no improvement in power, nor do I expect it to.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm planning on ordering a Fister exhaust this winter and they have the Flat 6 Motorsports - Cold Air Intake Elbow Kit Flat 6 Motorsports - Cold Air Intake Elbow Kit as an option. Does anyone have any experience with this product? Any performance gain? TIA for the feedback!

POST 2Original post

I have this which, might be the same thing? Or at least largely similar. https://www.ebay.com/itm/174838886445 Seems to improve induction sound, but I can feel no improvement in power, nor do I expect it to. I say buy it for the sound and cleaner look in the engine bay, but hold any expectations of powerrrrrrrr.

POST 4Original post

Search orange cap mod, and youll find folks doing a very similar intake mod like the one you mentioned. I have done it and the gundo mod on my mufflers as well. Adds a nice sound to the car for sure.

POST 5Original post

I have both on my 2000 C2, to be honest I cannot hear the induction sound over the Fister exhaust sound, but this option seems to be the most reasonable option out there so it’s worth a shot.

Same here. The loudest sound from the intake will occur during WOT. And WOT on a Fister or Gundo is going to be loud. I heard the intake mod better with my Boxster S, as the intake on that car is nearly right behind ones head in the cabin.

Paired with a BMC filter, these sound great. We haven't had a chance to put one on the dyno in isolation, likely just a couple of HP gain but it provides better flow and sound. We use high-quality components including 4-ply silicone for the tubing, a machined billet aluminum block off cap and black clamps for an OEM-ish look. We're building a 996 Carrera now (redoing the motor first) so we'll get some more content on this mod up shortly. They're a very popular upgrade for the 996 and 997.1 platforms.
