Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For all of you wondering the difference between changing oil with the car on Jack stands (rear elevated) and level, here you go. The glass is 9.5 oz. Probably would have been a little more than this. I just realized yesterday that I can reach the plug after I lower. I was still living in 986 world. No brainer going forward.

POST 2Original post

So what are you saying ? You got an extra 9.5 oz of dirty oil out when you leveled the car? Were you surprised? Good illustration!!! Always make sure the car is level when changing the oil BTW, that oil is pretty black! How many miles?

Nice but I do BOTH. I use jack stands and level the car or raise the front slightly Great post

POST 5Original post

Yeah after I drain the "majority" of the oil out I pull the large pan out and put a shorty pan under then lower the car and walk away for the day. Of course I'm a little OCD about dirty oil!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No idea where that jar came from. I drink crap coffee to feed my other bad habits.
