Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used a tow-mount bracket for my 2005 MCS too and it looked great to me.

My frount bumper cover on my 996 needs attention , I was thinking about filling the existing holes and using a similar mount

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just got my car back from the paint shop. I had them fill the holes in the front bumper. I think it looks a lot better. Yea, I know a front plate is required - I even got a warning ticket and another verbal warning recently, but it's been 6 years without a front plate now (knock on wood). I am planing to get the US Millworks bracket in case I need a plate bracket in a hurry
I agree. The front plate ruins the bumper and look. Although Im in Texas, I just couldn't put holes in it. I got by with just rarely driving mine and keeping the front plate inside the frunk.

I used a tow-mount bracket for my 2005 MCS too and it looked great to me. On the 996 though, I just never felt like the off-centered look was "right". So I decided to stick with the standard front mount.
You're a great kid by the way; I bought my mom a Mini too but I only bought her a regular R50 lol!
Could some extended brackets be attached to the center part of the car between the air flow intakes? I can't see the fuss about holes being in the bumper as when the plate is attached, the holes would not be visible anyway. Just a thought. Or you could move house to PA lol.
+1 for US Millworks tow-hook bracket. I just installed one with the quick release option on my new GT4 and it's slick. Added bonus, the plate is offset from the air intakes to the radiators which I'm convinced adds 50 HP
Actually, there are two of us. CHP got me, but in CA it's just a fix-it ticket. So I zip-tied the plate to the bumper, drove to the nearest CHP office, and from the doorway to the parking lot, he saw it and said, "OK, you're good." He signed off and I unzipped right there in the CHP lot.
I got one here after it fell off the Jeep, it was something like 5 or 6 years ago. was around $140 or so, and not all that much fun.
So yeah, not worth it.
I did this ......bent the plate over top and bottom to show just the letters and numbers - bingo
Strapped it to the middle vent - NO radiator there
