They don't look identical so I have to test fit them.

to use the new harness, do I have to split the case?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As you know I offer replacement harnesses for the 986/996.1 halogen headlights. I keep getting many requests for the harnesses for the Litronic headlights, but unfortunately it includes a few specialty connectors that I am unable to source.
One thing I can offer is to make the harness without these connectors and have you transfer them from the old harness. This would involve some soldering on your part.
I'd like to gauge if there is interest in this option. Below is a picture where I have circled the three items I cannot include (two connectors and one bulb socket). Please let me know if this would be helpful for anyone!
The center circled socket seems to be the marker light socket. The socket for the marker light is a Mercedes part, part# [phone removed] for a BAX9 base bulb.

You're welcome.
The white 2-pin plug looks like a VW Mk2/B3/Corrado clutch switch plug, VW Part# 443-906-231 although the new plugs are black.

Awesome, thank you man!
It' been a while since I checked this thread.
I have some of the bulb sockets you linked on order. They don't look identical so I have to test fit them.
As for the other two connectors, I found a single source for both, and I have a set in-house which is definitely OEM!
I just don't know in what quantity I can get them, working on that now.
None of these items are cheap, so the Litronic harness will be more expensive than the halogen one.
Once I build the first one I'll post up here. If the bulb socket works, I'll have at least one complete set up for sale.
unfortunately, the 996.2 harness has several specialty connectors that we have been unable to source. In addition, the main harness connector is very hard to remove from the housing and requires special tools.
Great news: I was able to source enough of the HID connectors for at least (6) pairs of these harnesses. I also received the bulb sockets that @theprf found and with a slight modification, I got them to work!
So I have (6) pairs of harnesses for sale with ALL connectors and the bulb sockets included. My source is not sure if/how many more of the HID wiring he'll be able to supply, so these are expected to go fast.
I'm charging $219 for the harness set, but if you send in your old harnesses with all connectors intact (condition of wiring is not important), I'll give you a $50 core refund. This will ensure me a supply of the HID parts for future harnesses and reduces your price from $219 to $169.
This is now live on my web site. I have one harness pair built and ready to ship; the other (5) are waiting on the HID parts to come in so I can build them. Plan on a ~3 week lead time give or take.
