Suggestion
The one I linked above is just the spoiler itself and replaces the pop-up spoiler that comes standard on the car.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Can anyone help me identify this tail on a 996 C4S? It looks like a GT3 tail but I didn't think that was an option on a C4S. I am trying to decide what fixed tail I would like to add to my 2003 C4S. Thanks in advance for any information.
Thanks, the car in the photo didn't look like it had an Aero kit and the only aero kits I have ever seen on a C4S have been the "taco" style rear spoiler. Maybe he just added the read spoiler to a non-aero car. I responded to his post on Facebook but haven't heard back. I would love to add that to my car !!
Didn't realize the aero II wasn't available for the C4S. It will be interesting to see what you find out from him. Fyi, there are some forum members that have installed Misha spoilers and have been really happy with them.
Have any pics?
The taco wing (like one being discussed) is made for NB cars. It is also for MkI cars, so any taco on a 4S would be a custom job. As a fan of the taco, I'd love to see such a pairing.
Instead of the common "Taco" style spoiler, have you considered the amazing "flying burrito"? It causes the car to run fast and back fire, but it's fun to watch!
It's an aftermarket mk2 gt3 style spoiler that replaces only the factory popup spoiler section and not the entire trunk lid. IIRC, the popup spoiler section are similiar if not identical to the NB models.
The Aerokit II spoiler is for narrow-body cars...as Alpine mentioned, the aftermarket version drops into the hole in the deck lid for the stock spoiler, while the aerokit II wing is an entire deck lid replacement.
Also has the red brakes from the turbo/C4S/AE. Bumper swap wouldn't be a surprise at all. Brakes have certainly been done, but it's not common.
I agree the pic is not clear enough to tell if it has the wider hip of the 4S or not.
If it is actually a WB 4S with an Aero II style wing on it, it could be this one:

This is the one I have on my car. You'll notice that the genuine article is all one part, and includes the entire trunk lid. The one I linked above is just the spoiler itself and replaces the pop-up spoiler that comes standard on the car. The lift mechanism is then deactivated with Durametric or other like software that can reprogram this function. This would get around the "doesn't fit WB cars" issue with the genuine AeroII trunk lid.
I'm in the camp of others that say this is an NB car with some front end mods to make it look like a 4S, etc. Something about the hips & wing combo is very reminiscent of the shape of my own car.
If it is a true WB car, the bolt-on wing is possible, but I think it would look a little misplaced. That's probably why they developed the very rare OEM aero wing for 4S cars, like user IkoIko911 has on his car.
Looks widebody to me, although as others have said the picture makes it really hard to tell. The most telling thing is the rocker panel, see the way it flares out noticeably between the door and the rear wheel. On a NB car it pretty much runs straight the whole way. A picture from slightly farther back to be able to see the rear bumper or taillight would make it easy to tell.
Sneaky Pete has the right idea. Recently sourced an '03 C4s and am "one of those guys" that wants a fixed wing to ruin the look of the oem 996 c4s. The OEM aero wing is cost prohibitive, but there are some replicas I'm looking at, just need to make sure they aren't crap before i order.
hopefully member ikoiko911 doesn't mind me posting a pic of his (albeit his is oem)...
