Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

You'll need to reseal both sides otherwise you risk the chance for a leak.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I want to drop my oil pan/sump plate when changing my oil on my rebuilt motor. When I remove it, so I try to separate the bottom plate from the extender piece or try to separate the extended piece from the bottom of the motor, or do I have to do each individually?
Then for re-installation, do you typically have to re-seal both the extender piece to the plate and then the extender to the engine (essentially like the first time it was installed)?
Go to ln web site and get the install instructions. Im sure u can figure out how to get it off by watching it.
Well 3 seconds of searching, install vids r there.

Thanks for all that replied, I really do appreciate it, but I'm looking for answers from people that actually have the produce installed and have removed it:
@hbdunn - the product you showed is different and does not have a gasket
@dejeeper - I know how I
could
take it off, I'm looking for answers from people that
have
taken it off that can relate the first-hand experiennce describing the best way to take it off. E.G. they may say to remove only the plate from the spacer, or try to remove the spacer from the engine, thus preserving the seal of the spacer to plate. OR they might say, it's uselsess and you'll need to reseal both esides regardless since the seal will be compromised....
Best...
You can just break the seal at the extension plate and engine block as long as you are very careful not to stress the lower extension / oil pan seal (if it is sealant seal versus a gasket). When you remove the pan bolts, youll quickly know if its a sealant seal versus a compressed gasket.
I haven’t removed my sump plate since I installed the 2qt deep sump.
But I do have experience with LN Engineering‘s support system.

Open a ticket and you’ll get a quick response.
In my experience they‘ve also answered on weekends.
Post their response as Im interested in the answer too.
^ of 1 and half a dozen of the other.
Best to reseal both sides of the 1/2 qt spacer. Otherwise you could end up with a leak sooner rather than later. That will eat up the little time you tried to save.
