Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Posted this is Audio and Video Forum, but figured should also try here. Need to remove the trim around my Pioneer AVH-210EX. Understand radio release tabs are under it. I've ordered the radio removal keys. How do you remove the trim piece around the unit? Does it just pull off? Any special place to gently pry? Don't want to break it. Taking out because parking brake on-off-on procedure not working to access entire menu. Figured easier to remove and add an emulator than access parking brake switch to see if connector came off. Going to do rear view camera also.

POST 2Original post

Not sure if you're talking about the horseshoe-shaped center console that houses the buttons for the cigarette lighter, wiper speed, convertible top, etc or you're talking about the black surround? The black bezel around the radio looks more than the Metra mount and not a trim piece. Therefore, it will slide out with the radio once you remove the horse-shoe console trim. That horseshoe console trim just pops off and then you remove the connectors on the back. Use a plastic trim tool and be careful because it is painted plastic and it will scratch. Also, make sure you take a photo so you don't get the connectors mixed up when you reinstalled everything.

Googled Metra mount and found below pic for a different vehicle. Now understand. I'd thought the black surround might pop off and expose the key slots. Thanks for setting me straight.
