Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Is anyone here running these factory 18 inch wheels without spacers?

Suggestion
The only issue for me is that when I'm putting the wheels on after taking off my other set, I have to be careful that I don't scrape the calipers when seating the wheel.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Need some advice from the braintrust. I have cross threaded a lug on my left front. The other 4 are on correctly but the 5th one is really bad. Its on but it wont last another removal. So, I have spacers on the fronts and rears. I am headed to the track Friday, hence my question.
Would it be ok to just remove the spacers on the front wheels? I don't know what effect that might have on the track but I imagine it would be negligible. I am running the M030 suspension.
Bump to the top with a related question. I want to remove the front spacers until I can get new ones but looking at the wheel last night I am wondering if there is enough room between the back of the wheel and the brake caliper.
Is anyone here running these factory 18 inch wheels without spacers?
Gator, these are factory made wheels for 996 meant for a factory setup. You should be fine as stock 996 did not come with spacers. Visually, I do agree that the calipers look really close to the rear side of the spokes.
Man, you are starting to get paranoia like the rest of these peeps.
Did you run out of the Unicorn supplements by chance?
Yeah, I need to stop sniffing glue. Its just been a hell of week with this thing. The burst ASO return line was the start! I leave for the track in the morning so I got into panic mode. I will pull the spacers tonight and lose that .000000002 seconds on the track. Thanks for the support Alps!!
I have the same wheels without spacers. The only issue for me is that when I'm putting the wheels on after taking off my other set, I have to be careful that I don't scrape the calipers when seating the wheel. There is very little clearance.
I do use the wheel holder, but it can still scrape the caliper when putting it on unless I'm careful. It would be easier if the car was on a lift but having it jacked up makes lifting and aligning it a little awkward. Not a great angle for my old back.
Gator, you should be fine. I have those wheels and ran them without spacers until recently when I added 15mm after lowering he car.
I'll look you up at Roebling. Saturday looks good Sunday not so much. 80% chance of Thunderstorms.
