I'm just wondering if these are just better in the long run for durability...not so much on weight.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Titanium Porsche 911 Titanium Lug Bolt Aerospace Grade 5 6AL4V http://www.ebay.com/itm/251587609756?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Pros? Cons? Would really like to hear from any owners out there especially...thanks!

POST 2Original post

How much? I can't imagine there isn't something better to spend the money on.

POST 3Original post

If you're really looking for a way to cut out that extra .000089th of a second per lap, yes, it might be worth it.

I'm just wondering if these are just better in the long run for durability...not so much on weight. I'm more interested in things like heat standing, friction, strength...etc. Thanks..

POST 5Original post

Well, I've never heard of a properly torqued steel (oem) wheel bolt breaking under normal circumstances. Not sure I would be looking at Titanium bolts for anything other than bling, and it would be pretty cool to say you had titanium bolts

POST 7Original post

i have seen them advertised list price of SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY BUCKS. poser bling. if people wanna spend that kinda coin on your knutz ....then they are knutz.

POST 8Original post

Thieves will have a VERY good reason to visit your car.

POST 9Original post

Anyone remember the Alloy lug nuts from the 80's ? super light but did not stand up to much abuse. Now I see more Porsches with lug bolts like most other cars, Mini , BMW and such. went in for a tire service and the mechanic was going to use an impact to tighten. I was going to beat him with it.

POST 10Original post

I swear some people putting on wheels over tighten at least one or two of them - not all - just for kicks, and it always ends up being the last one you try to take off.

POST 11Original post

Impact is only ok if they use torque specified wheel sockets. $700 on a 20k turd is hard to justify, especially if that's your only mod. I'd rather keep a pair if Depends and bottle of ExLax in the glove box when I need to save further weight on the weekends when all the ricers are out.

I bet they make titanium bolts for most everything in the engine or car, and other really lightweight parts... If a person really wanted to make the effort and go through things.
