Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I disconnected the fiber from the cd changer and plugged in the loop that came in the kit.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect fiber' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check voltage and it was good' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I have the same OE configuration and installed the adapter, very satisfied.

The Bluetooth emulates the cd changer to use Bluetooth so the changer gets disconnected.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have 2003 C4S with the CDR-23 head unit, cd changer in frunk and Bose high end sound system. I want to add Bluetooth and found this Mr12volt adapter that should work with the MOST system. Has anyone installed this? I think its the same/similar as the Lapower unit as well.
Did you wire into the same brown/red wires that go into the head unit using the red splice connectors the kit came with? I just wired everything up but I didnt see anything show up on the Bluetooth on my phone. Did you also simply plug in the orange fiber cables or did you do any other rewiring?
Do you have to have a cd changer for this to work? Website says: "Make sure the CDC feature has been enabled, if you already have a factory CD changer or DVD navigation installed then it is all good."
ke sure the CDC feature has been enabled, if you already have a factory CD changer or DVD navigation installed then it is all good;
You dont need a changer, but you have to go to the dealer and get it enabled apparently. The Bluetooth emulates the cd changer to use Bluetooth so the changer gets disconnected.
I went back to check the voltage and it was good. Disconnected everything and reconnected and what do you know it all works. Actually very easy in the end. Sounds great, and works so easy. Highly recommend if you want to add Bluetooth.
I went through this and the dealership couldn't find the setting so I got my own PIWIS2 and did it myself.
If you go there tell them the setting is in CDR23/PCM -> Repairs and Maintenance

Got my ways :-p
Was a reasonable cost, did cost more than a durametric though. The new PIWIS3 is even more.
There aren't any more PIWIS2 updates though all the development is now in PIWS3
Hey Dan, does the PIWIS3 do any more for the 996's than the PIWIS2? I thought the the PIWIS3 was just more functions for the newer cars. Just wondering.
Fully updated PIWIS 3 actually does less since won't allow retrofits like LED addition in early Macans that did not originally come from factory as option. But folks holding a PIWIS 3 in the forum likely don't have the fully updated dealership level.
I have the same OE configuration and installed the adapter, very satisfied. Mounted the unit in the glovebox so I have easy access if I want to use the wired AUX connector. Powered by tapping into the cigarette lighter positive wire nearby.
