Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK so here is my dilemma, I have a 2004 40th AE 911 and all of the sudden my low beam / driving lights stopped working and they are not coming on. I do have all the other lights i.e. instrument panel, Radio, turning signals, marker lights, Brake lights, and High Beams etc etc. Now Before I go chasing gremlins and get a new light switch $125.00 has anyone encounter this issue? any comment will help thank you

POST 2Original post

Awesome ty i didnt want to spend the money and be something else is the Boxer switch and the 996 same for the 40th 911?

POST 4Original post

I don't know the answer to that question. My guess is the light switch for a 996 is the same. Hopefully you checked all the headlight fuses first. My car is a 99 (made 7/98), so it is 23 years old. My headlight switch just fell apart inside and the switch would not turn. Replaced with OE Porsche headlight switch and all is well. Being very careful, it took me about 2 hours.

The Boxster and 996 switches are all the same. I think some of the late 2005 cars may have got 997 switches though.

POST 7Original post

Several threads on this topic. Could just be dirty. Had the exact issue years ago. Remove it, hose it down with electrical cleaner, and work through all positions. Mine still works to this day.
