Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have completely new suspension (installed x73 suspension), so its not worn upper mounts/bearings.
Leading evidence: 'Install x73 suspension)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'damn spring perches' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check air and report back' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Power steering fluid was changed at 70k miles, car currently has 74k.

Figured out what it was, it was the damn spring perches.

I thought it was the fender well plastic rubbing the tire, it sounds identical to that.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Searched a bit, couldnt find anything that was quite it.
It sounds like a fender well plastic that wasnt completely secured is rubbing on the tire tread. At first I thought thats what it was for some reason, but nope, fenderwell is clipped and secured. Happens when I turn left or right rolling along at slow, parking lot speeds. Will happen if parked and I turn the wheel as well. Cant tell if its happening at high speeds.
I have completely new suspension (installed x73 suspension), so its not worn upper mounts/bearings. Its intermittent, I heard it when I went to leave this morning, pulled into the gas station to see what it was, nothing leaking, fluids good, cautiously drove about an hour, got home rolled the windows down, pulled into the driveway, and the noise was gone.
Start the car up about 5 hours later to go for a drive and its back. No weird knocks or bumping sounds like people are experiencing in the other threads...just odd intermittent creaking/rubbing noise. Im not full lock either, I can be dead straight and turn the wheel a little bit and hear it.
any ideas?
A few thoughts .
1. What is the timeline on suspension refresh and noise starting ?
2. Any chance the noise is coming from the steering column ?
3. Has power steering fluid been changed lately ? Maybe air in the system .
That's all I got .
The buzz is kind of throwing me off, if it was more of a squeal I would say it sounds a lot like a power steering issue. It may still be even if it is a buzz. Have you checked the power steering fluid level? As 996C4 pointed out, air in the system could also be a thing even if you are full.
suspension was refreshed a few weeks ago, did some hard drives in the mountains and never happened during that. Got an audio system installed and at first I thought it was electrical feedback in the dash speakers, then realized it was buzzing when turning the wheel. Definitely not coming from the rack. Power steering fluid was changed at 70k miles, car currently has 74k.
yeah, definitely a buzz. I thought it was the fender well plastic rubbing the tire, it sounds identical to that. Ill check for air and report back.
Went for a 300 mile drive today...didn't hear it once....asked my buddy and he said the upper mounts might need a hint of silicone lube sprayed in there as it could be spring noise...just a guess...
If it sounds like an electric or hydraulic "buzz" it's probably low power steering fluid. Has happened to me in the past when the car is cold during cooler weather. You don't hear it in the steering column you hear it coming from the right side of the car.
If its a vibration buzz, then its probably another animal.
Didnt hear it all day yesterday, woke up this morning and its back. A low pitched creak I guess could also describe it, like that sound old pick-up truck leaf springs make. Now that my buddy said spring perch, that sounds likely. Theres no haptic feedback, just noise. Gonna spray some silicone lubricant near the top mount of the spring and see what that does.
Figured out what it was, it was the damn spring perches. Sprayed silicone lube on the spring where it meets the top mount and in the top mountnoise went away.
