Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I wouldn't recommend upgrading just for the sound but if your stock cats are done they are worth considering.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

They're beautiful, and you can even from street level see a hint of the gorgeous metal, but best of all, the sound of these cats combined with the FisterD mufflers is AMAZING.
It is definitely not too loud, in both cruising and city, the sound is completely addictive in tunnels. It is the MOST AMAZING car sound I have EVER EVER heard. I am now more addicted to my daily driver than before...
Maxspeed service was amazing - received it in about 5 days. I had my local dealer install it for $600 in labor and new hardware (old ones were all rusted out after 12 yrs).
I do not know what the increase in HP is, but it certainly feels like I have more power...
no affiliation - just a happy customer

Not a true "cross pipe" design but it's great that you like them. Actual cross pipe cat's have an integrated flow at the X and look something like this...
I used to have those Cat's (along with Maxspeed Headers and Mufflers) and can attest that setup was really loud.
I choose to go with the Speed Venture X pipe and the 200 cell high flow cats
Combined with the Fister D Stage III Titanium Sport Mufflers
I could not be happier with the performance and the sound
Just in case you go to a DE w/ sound limits, I passed 90dB at Laguna w/ this combo, but def had to have diverters made to angle sound away from the sound station. I didn't get a sound measure as I didn't want to press my luck.
I installed the Maxspeed 200 cell X-pipe cats a few years ago and was also impressed with both the quality and service. No issues since and they have survived a handful of track days.
And the exhaust sounds almost perfect to me (with the Gundo hack). I wouldn't recommend upgrading just for the sound but if your stock cats are done they are worth considering.
