Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking into going back to a more stock 18 inch wheel from my current 19 inch wheel on my C4S. Since its a wide body, the ordinary C2 wheels will not fit the back without wheel spacers. Anyone on here ever done that? Does buying a narrow wheel and putting in spacers affect the handling or ride at all?

POST 2Original post

When I put my winter wheels on my C4S, the rear wheels are 10x18, just like the wheels from a C2. I used 17mm Porsche OE spacers with the rear wheels to push them out and make them look "normal" on a wide body car. It's hard to say how much impact it had on handling because I was running it with winter tires and those probably had a bigger impact on handling than a spacer would. Why not get some 18" wheels in the proper width and offset for your C4S?

Because they cost a fortune new and are hard to find used. C2 wheels are much easier to find cheap and used. I am tired of the lousy rough ride of the 19 inch wheels. I also need to replace my tires. The wheels I am looking at come with a good set of winter tires, which I like. I guess I could go back to the 19s with a new set of summer tires come spring. But I increasingly loath the 19s and need to get rid of them.
