Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Now I have both fans working at low speed again. Just like almost everybody else my driver's side was bad. What tipped me off was my gauge was showing a bit past the "0" on the 180 on a 50 degree day. Check it out sure enough pass side was blowing away, and drivers side was still. I made sure my relays were good and then went to my local Car Quest part store and ordered me a OEM Porsche harness with resistor for $106.08 a bit more than I found online, but I had it in my hand in a couple hours. I did not even have to take the wheel off I did remove the inner wheel well cover and there was plenty of room to do the job. I'm sure I saved myself a few dollars doing this myself.
Welcome to the world of Porsche DIY
Since you are in San Diego, we have one of the best PCA clubs in the country.
Come join us for the next autocross Feb 6 and meet lots of great people as well as have a blast with your new car.

Thanks JayG, I actually just joined last week and plan to be there 2/6 as a spectator though. I'm looking forward to being there with my 12yr old son. I do plan on participating in the future autocross events but I think my first time out may be best to do a lot of watching and learning of how the event runs.
I get your reservations, but you will kick yourself for not taking part. There is no expectation that you know everything and almost everyone will help you out. Just don't pass up the opportunity to drive your car as it was meant to be driven!
As Peter said, don't wait, jump right in.
When you register, you will note that you are a student and need an instructor.
A great instructor will be assigned to you for the day and walk you through everything.
You will do corner work as everyone does, so you 12 y/o will have to hang off the track for a little bit. Not to worry, there are plenty of things to look at and lots of people that will keep an eye on him
Our club is full of very helpful people and all have been a newbie at one time
There is a food truck for lunch and lots of free cold drinks
Ill be there in my Boxster #990 with my son. Cuda and others from this forum will be there as well
Ok you guys may have changed my mind. I'll pick up a new helmet tomorrow if I can find one I like. My current one I use to use at the Racelegal events at Qualcomm Is a few years out of date. You guys know of a place that has a selection of car helmets, I've found that motorcycle helmets inside of a car are just too big and I would prefer on open face since I have glasses and closed faced helmets are a pain with them. I look forward to meeting you guy's. I met a fellow named Ian, he tracks a 944 at the Porsche events here in San Diego. I bought his car cover for a 996 he use to have.
Look forward to seeing you there
If your helmet is Snell SA or M 2010 it is fine
Try summit racing, they have may still have a bunch of SA 2010 helmets on sale
I think JBA Speed Shop in off Clairemont Mesa may have some as well
Also, San Diego PCA has a bunch of new helmets that are available to rent for the autocross. IIRC, it is $10 for the day and they ave very clean helmets and there are free headsocks as well. I think there is a check box when you register online for helmet rental. If not send an email to
