Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just did the same to mine, but I also used Griot's garage one step polish/sealant with their DA polisher.

At least the motorcycles stay fairly clean 90% of the time.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After spending 5 minutes on the concourse forum I felt that both my washing methods and my supplies were completely inadequate. I also found a great youtube video outlining the proper method and technique to get do a really thorough paint cleaning and seal.

A quick trip to Amazon resulted in a fairly large order.
A few pictures of the car after the initial soak, rinse, wash, rinse...
and what was under the grit guard in the rinse bucket
Then on to clay bar followed by another soak, wash rinse. Followed by wax. I opted not to use the swirl remover or do any paint repair because outside of chips I didn't see much to worry about. My plan is to eventually come back and fix chips, do some light polishing and rewax later - but not anytime soon.
Also, before anyone calls it out - I haven't washed the wheels yet. The weather hasn't been cooperating so I had to move to the garage and figured I'd finish the paint before I start on wheels and tires.
Here's the end result. All together I'd guess it took about 5-6 hours.
Cheers

BTW, the car looks great!

That's something I would like to do if I get the energy. Nice job.
Funny, I watched the same video a few weeks ago and thought that this was something I could do.
Good work OP, a lot of us here are retired detailers. I actually owned a shop in Raleigh some years back.
Yeah obsessed garage is awesome. Anyone here who hasn't watched his you tubes or read his threads here on RL should take a look. Very informative and obsessed with car care. Guy has some nice cars too.
i'm one of those guys too.. But it's very time consuming taking care of 3 cars. A DA polisher is one of the better pieces to have, as it takes out a lot of elbow work--but it's still a lot of work.
I try to do maintenance cleaning with optimum no rinse every few days on the M and P car.

Multiple cars totally puts you in the position to optimize your routine. A man can't roll with pride in a filthy ride
I have PPF/Ceramic on all my cars- handy for hard track use. the I was in Austria I just had the dealer give it a quick wash. A week at the Nrburgring is tough and I once ruined the paint on a brand new BMW M6 with no protection at the Ring.. I do not care about a perfect car- my stuff gets hammered a bit, so there will be road rash. Just don't want major chipping.
Just depends on what you use the car for. Evidently a daily driver is going to take a lot less abuse than the stuff I get up to. I just bring my car to the local handwash downtown and they seem good enough.
Car looks great! Detailing products have come a long way. Claying is still a great way to remove crap from your paint. An iron remover will remove a ton of that rough crap stuck on the paint without the risk of scratching that clay can. A clay mitt will do what clay does much faster and without the worry of having to toss any clay that touches the ground.
To wax, or seal the paint, a product like Carpro Hydro2 takes minutes to apply to every surface on the car. It leave a durable coating that will last months. My car is ceramic coated but after every deep cleaning of the wheels (barrels and calipers) I mist some on there and pressure wash it off. It coats everything. You can seal an entire car in 5 minutes. The wax on, wax off method is no longer needed.
I used to detail cars. I would deep clean the interior, deep clean the wheels, then used Iron-X on the entire car. Then used Hydro2 to seal it all up. Took 4 hours on just about any car in any condition. Customers were thrilled. No time for me to do it anymore,
Here's what I do. Wash and dry; cover all black plastic parts with blue painters' tape; clay bar; paint cleaner; polish; sealer. Whatever I do to the paint, I also do to the windshield, front windows, and back window. On a mid-size car, this usually takes me 9 hours using a Porter-Cable orbital polisher. My 2001 911 probably takes me less time, but I can't remember how long since I haven't done it in years (my 911 is a garage queen). I do this once a year (except on the 911) and water still beads up a year later.
