Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Did a search and found only one thread with not exactly my situation:
I have a 2001 996 C2 coupe I bought over a year ago in British Columbia Canada, moving to the US on a TN visa for work and want to import it with me. The car is plated, insured and driven daily in Canada and I have been the owner for over a year.
Car is originally an American car from Wisconsin and carfax confirms that.
what do I need to do to make this happen? Is it not worth the trouble? Id like to drive the car across the border myself when I enter.
i do not have original US title or Bill of Sale or any export documents from when it was exported from the US, I am the second owner I. Canada, previous owner didnt keep anything.
any help is greatly appreciated.
Not that I have seen. Once a US car is exported it is consider a foreign vehicle. There are no loop holes or short cuts to get it back into the country. It will need to meet the same standards as any other vehicle being imported into the US.
I believe you may be mistaken, I found this here:

Re-Importing A Previously Exported Vehicle
A vehicle taken from the United States for non-commercial, private use may be returned duty free by proving to CBP that it was previously owned and registered in the United States. This proof may be a state-issued registration card for the automobile or a bill of sale for the car from a U.S. dealer. Repairs or accessories acquired abroad for your vehicle must be declared on your return and may be subject to duty.
This only applies to duties, not the car having to meet federal DOT regulations and associated paperwork. Also, you mentioned in your original post that you didn't have a copy of the US title or bill of sale? Why not just bring the car with you under the TN visa program? Seems a lot simpler unless you are planning to permanently immigrate?

I think there is an Exemption for a period of time., like 1 year with your Work Visa.
I would call the Port you are considering entering with your car. Ask them what you need?
For example Ontario. The entry to Ontario to Export from the usa is the Port of Buffalo.
If I were you, (Me being or coming to Ontario) I would call Port of Buffalo and ask the question/s
Those fellows were excellent to deal with and extremely knowledgeable
In this instance you are Entering the usa Port nearest you
Hope that helps
