Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Leading evidence: 'cat' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cat' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Did a search but haven't seen a combo of these two yet. Pulled the codes with a generic reader, only these 2 with a short description: P1539: Power to A/C Clutch Circuit overcurrent/Camshaft Adjustment Bank 2 P0430. Catalytic converter system, bank 2 - Efficiency below threshold Seems to be related to the passenger side bank. Any ideas? CEL on (steady on), engine runs smooth. Idle smooth + steady. Pulls hard to redline. No unusual noise. 1999 MY C2 3.4L 6MT, US model.

POST 2Original post

The 2 may not be related but then again a bad maf screws a lot of things up. A good scanner can graph the voltages and u can monitor the sensors. Pay for the diagnostics or through money at parts blindly. It may be a bad or failing o2 or cat for the 0430 and a bad ground for the other?

POST 3Original post

P0430 is probably a failing cat .. P1539 is likely a failing vario-cam actuator But as DeJeeper says, since these are expensive repairs it would be foolish to just fire the parts cannon at it..it's best to do a thorough diagnosis to be positive ....

Interesting, my indie also suspected a faulty MAF. The car couldn't hold idle after it warmed up when we dropped in the new unit. We went back to the old MAF and everything worked fine.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
