Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

All the cars I have ever done brake jobs on did not have them, and figured they not really necessary but wouldn't feel comfortable without checking first.
Leading evidence: 'Check first' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check first' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Anyway, I've seen others with non Porsche cars say it doesn't really matter and logic would say they really don't since the bolts hold the disc in once tightened anyway.

I have seen people use old impact screw drivers, the type you tap with a hammer.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Do you guys remove the screws that hold the disc brakes on? I ask because I was doing a bleed on my brakes this weekend (have had the car about a year and a half and didn't know if they were done recently before I purchased). I noticed for the first time that the screws were missing on my front discs. The rear discs which look older with more wear still had the screws, which confirmed to me that the fronts only were replaced at some point. I'd like to get a new set of screws but not sure if anyone but the dealer has the exact screws. Anyway, I've seen others with non Porsche cars say it doesn't really matter and logic would say they really don't since the bolts hold the disc in once tightened anyway. Just figured I'd ask what others do and how important they deem these screws to actually be.
U can get the screws from several vendors. Fcpeuro has them. Also they r 100% not needed, they r only there for factory assembly.
To get the old ones off use an impact screw gun. If they strip u will need to drill off the head, remove the rotor and then use vice grips and heat to remove the rest.
Thanks. All the cars I have ever done brake jobs on did not have them, and figured they not really necessary but wouldn't feel comfortable without checking first. I have seen people use old impact screw drivers, the type you tap with a hammer. I am not sure if that is the correct technical term for them though. I've heard the screws can get quite tight on there though.
I have a bunch of spare screws for various makes and always reinstall/replace them when doing client vehicles, and my own, mainly because of OCD.
I also believe it helps keep the rotor balanced correctly.
Not a big deal at 70mph, but it is at 100+mph.
I have a special Honda Vessel Impacta tool that works on other cars.
The end is actually not a Philips head on Hondas, but a #2 JIS.(Japanese Industrial Standard)
But it’s really close to a Philips Head.
The tool works for Philips heads too, but Philips head screwdrivers rarely work for Honda’s.
They usually strip out JIS screws.
