Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace too' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace too' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Usually a C4 chassis is used because it is stiffer than the C2 chassis.

They are 19" and around $4,000 for the set, plus you'll need correct spacers and then tires.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I attended a mid-week luncheon/car show in Keswick, Virginia today. Nothing special there....just a Ferrari 250 GTO, a Ferrarie 288 GTO, and an original owner 2,400 mile Lusso! Oh, did I mention a Singer 911, a couple of 991 GT3 Touring and a GT2 RS. Just your usual gathering of everyday cars... Ha!!
BUT, there in the corner was a RUF rgt 996. I'd never seen one nor knew of it's existence, but it was unquestionably the best looking 996 I've seen. The color, the stance, the bodywork, the wheels....It all came together.
Wow a super rare find. For some reason I thought all of these had the weird green interior that RUF is known for. Looks like the seats got replaced, too. I still think the RUF 5-spokes are some of the best looking aftermarket wheels on these cars - cool to actually see them on a RUF.
I loved racing this thing on Gran Turismo 3 on my ps2. I remember seeing this one on rennlist, someone came up on a great car.

Here's another interior shot and one of the nose. I see a nose on eBay that is a replica of the RuF nose. Not sure what is going on with that center stack in the IP? No HVAC? There's a fan ****....
Someone may or may not be collecting Ruf parts in their garage to make their own RGTish 996 clone.
All of my research has led me to believe Ruf only made about 17 of these total and only 5 or so made it to the US. There is a blue one, yellow one, metallic orange one, a silver vert and this one I have seen evidence of in the US.
Mine will likely remain m96 powered but that M96 may get some added displacement and other love at some point.
Ruf does the green gages, but you can get the interior trim pieces in many colors.
I have a list of all the ruf items I want. I buy myself a gift every quarter. With a little luck I should be well into the transformation next spring.
Please keep us updated!!! I considered this route as well but it could spiral out of control ($$$) pretty easy
I remember seeing one for sale a couple years ago for about $40K if I remember correctly and thought that was a deal and half!
I saw this car 2 years in a row at Werks Reunion Amelia Island. Fell in love with it..a massaged 996 GT3 Mezger engine and the car was a body in white directly from Porsche. A true RUF creation.
Most interesting aspect of this car is that the color and the RUF front cover now make the 996.2 headlamps look fantastic. Plus, you need the wheels. They are 19" and around $4,000 for the set, plus you'll need correct spacers and then tires. Adds up fast.....
Bob
you know, i have all the parts - side skirts, front bumper cover with ducts, wheels with centre caps, spacers, lug nuts and bolts, leather steering wheel with alcantara adaptor, floor mats, front and rear crests, gauge dial overlays, pedals. even have a 3.6 x51 (as close as you'll get to the gt3 engine, and about as much hp with some massaging).
just can't find a good roller to put is all on. anywhere.
Good luck with your search! So far I have the side skirts, rear decklid and spoiler, and exhaust tips. I dont want to do the crests, although if I could get my hands on their new green front hood crest.... I will be ordering the front end by Christmas then off to paint. Given the current sale, I may get something else now.
I have HRE 547s, so I wont be changing wheels.
The color of the one in the OP is questionable at best, not to mention the debris on the seats and the drivers side footwell... The Blue ones and the Red one would be much more desirable to me. I was at a "cors and coffee" last weekend and there was a Powder Blue RUF 964 - very cool car!
^^^ Ruf must have received a HUGE initial deposit to follow through with the build of this car's interior in those colors...awesome car if you can ignore the colors of its interior.
Usually a C4 chassis is used because it is stiffer than the C2 chassis. This is why they used an AWD chassis for the GT2 and GT3, and I would bet Ruf did the same for the same reason.
Love Ruf but don't like what they did with the front bumper nor the aero look in general. It's heavy, boxy and hanging. Makes the car look clumsy. Would love to see them come up with a different design that works with the lines of the 996 better.
