Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I hadn't driven for a few months at night but, tonight I had the car out and turned on the headlights. The fogs are fine but, I don't have low or high beams. I am guessing it is the light switch on the dash?

POST 2Original post

Headlight switch, ignition switch, slide-in connectors on housings became unseated, fuses, relay. Lots to pick from.

POST 3Original post

I recently lost my ignition switch and it took out my high/low beams but not fogs/parking lights as you describe. I also lost windshield wipers and AC / blower. Oh yeah and it was really f'ing hard to get the key out of the ignition...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I pulled out the light switch sometime last summer and am hoping that one of the connections is just loose.

POST 5Original post

Had the same problem a few years back. Was the light switch.

POST 6Original post

My headlights recently went out when I went to high beams. Changed the switch and problem solved.

One night on a dark desert highway, I was getting all kind weird occurrences when attempting to switch on my lights. My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim. I had to stop in the night. I'd switch it to first position and the radio came on playing "Night Train". All the lights blinked with the music. Neat... Now I'm ready for some fun. Captain! Bring me my wine! Switched it to second position and the front projector lights turned in the form of a follow spot. Wow! This is coool! Switched it to third position and a beautiful woman popped out of the frunk and began dancing to the music seductively. She was all dressed up in a burlesque style outfit. Out of extreme curiosity, I frantically tried to find the fourth position, but there wasn't one! There she stood in my doorway, I heard a taco bell. And I was thinking to myself, "This could be Taco Heaven or this could be Taco Hell" Where is my FOURTH position?!!! Then there was voices calling from FAAARRRR away! The kind that will wake you up in the middle of the night just to hear them say.... "Wake up beeotch you dreaming!"
