Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
they could have changed internals, who knows what.
Leading evidence: 'Replace internals, who knows what' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace internals, who knows what' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys,
So I've recently purchased a gemballa kitted 996 with a fair few mods and have been trying to get to the bottom of all the work done so far in addition to the gemballa kit/wheels/exhaust/x51 etc I'll be keeping it long-term and want to go nuts with it over time but would love to know what it's starting off at. It started life as a 3.4 with X51 kit so the question I have is: I'd read that the x51 included a different crank with a longer stroke (but in other things I've read this wasn't mentioned). Did it, and if so what does that result in engine size wise?
Am loving it so far, it feels a lot more frantic than stock 3.4 and 3.6's I'd driven prior, albeit some were tiptronics, but feels very snarly with the higher rev limit and little extra torque. I've barely been able to find any tangible information on the x51 though.. My OCD is intrigued to know
Cheers
as far as Im concerned, you need to find out from gemballa what the engine has. If they did modification to it, then they would have the record of what they did and what improvement it did to it. they could have changed internals, who knows what. Id get their records and find out what parts they provided, what ecu software they installed, what hp is it now.
That's awesome, thanks! They must have been mixed up with the new camshafts perhaps.. Thanks for the link too, it's a good read
From a bit more reading, Seems like the emphasis of the x51 is mostly on lubrication and cooling (I believe from the factory it also has an additional third radiator which the Wide body cars eg the 40th don't have due to having the larger radiators out of the box?) rather than out and out power, but with the higher rpm etc, it feels a lot more alive than others I had driven, fell in love!
sure, here she is at the minute
Will take some better ones when I'm home. Got a load of things I want to do with it, first being a thicker alcantara wheel to match the headliner
Nice ride!
Glad to hear you can feel the difference the kit makes. It looks like a perfect kit for my car. I need that extra push in the straights and the added reliability these part provide is a plus with a track car.
thanks!
Actually didn't intend on tracking the 911 as I'm building a track car, but I can't wait to get it down there. Yeah it's hard to tell not driving them back to back, but having driven a few there's definatley a little more urgency, the extra torque and higher rev limit seems to make it a bit more usable and the delivery feels different to non x51 3.4s or 3.6's I've been in, it feels like it comes alive a lot more around the 5k rpm. (Also looked at a 997s but have always been a sucker for the controversial 996 looks!) Some of this may be a bit of a placebo due to the suspension and exhaust mods too that said.
A contact may thinks he may be able to chase something up based on the vin/engine number so it'l be interesting to see what it comes back with. Want to get it on the dyno next month just to see. Long term want to get a balance between power/reliabilitiy but staying lightweight and NA.
Congrats. With the secondary oil pump on there, you owe it to yourself to take her on the track at least once.
The urgency you feel is the revised throttle mapping.
Cheers
Yep it's for the NA, by all accounts an expensive retrofit but seems well worthwhile even if just for the extra reliability and drivability
hehe Twisted my arm, booked up for the next track day and have a few bits and pieces to help get ready for the occasion
I suppose that makes sense, been away from it for 3 weeks so can't wait to have a play tonight!
