Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I have this very strange issue, so here are the symptoms. 1- No more alarm led on dash 2- Windows will not go up or down both side under any circumstance 3- Two horn when arming 4- Windows will go down when opening doors 5- All the buttons on the right portion of the horseshoe that surround the radio does not lit at night. 6- Doors will not lock or unlock Anyone know whats wrong... Car is 996 TT 04 Thanks Bo

POST 2Original post

Might be a main power lead to those circuits. I doubt if only one wire would serve all the accessories.

POST 3Original post

Check fuses, relays. Did the car sit outside in a rainstorm between "worked" and "doesn't work"?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, The car was parked inside, on a charger as it has been for the last years... nothing major happened, it just went wrong like that...

POST 5Original post

Correct - check fuses/relays. Remove negative terminal from battery and let the car sit for 30 minutes to reset. Connect battery. See if things are the same. Why the battery charger? Low battery voltage is the source of many electrical gremlins. Also the electrical part of the ignition switch. When was the last time you got a new battery?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

DBjoe, The battery is new of this year but since I drive the car one a month or two, I stays on a battery ''maintainer''... Thanks bo

POST 7Original post

Double beep means there is an alarm fault. Single beep indicates an open zone. You either need to do what I suggested about removing the negative battery cable and doing a reset and then see what happens, or, you will need Durametric or Porsche to scan the security system faults to pinpoint the problem. Could be a door/trunk microswitch, door lock microswitch, a short somewhere...something that is causing the alarm system fault. Best thing instead of guessing and throwing $ at parts is to get the system scanned for faults. The fault codes will tell you exactly where the problem lies. BTW - are you using the key fob to try to lock/unlock doors? Try using the key in the door and see what happens. Remember also that the alarm system disables the remote after about 5 days of the car not starting (stops listening for a signal) to conserve power. And you say that you have it on a battery maintainer...trickle charger. Is that connected to the battery directly or are you using the cigarette lighter socket? Could be you blew a fuse on that circuit, or fried the wires on the right side of the console.

POST 8Original post

Have your car alarm fully checked at a Porsche facility. That's the quickest easiest solution to your problemssssssss.
