Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking at a low mileage 2004 9114S (16,000). and have no past info on IMS. I know that the low mileage cars are more likely to have problems from lack of use. Is there anyway to check to make sure the IMS has not done any damage to the engine before purchasing. The oil was changed at the dealer so it's too late to check filter or drain plug for metal. Could a Porsche dealer scope the engine to tell if there are any issues with the IMS before I buy the car? I don't want to find out this car was traded because there was a concern of engine contamination by an IMS breaking down. Thanks for any help.

POST 2Original post

Nope, buy it and deal with the IMSB ASAP with the LN Solution.
