Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know it's the cover that goes over the rear pin mounting on my 996 Cab... The cars apolstary is grey and the offside cover is .... unsurprisingly...well grey ... When I took delivery of the car the nearside cover wasn't fitted but the seller gave me a box and informed me it was a replacement cover for the nearside. Fair enough he was being truthful.... I opened the box only to find the cover is actually black and not grey.... So essentially I have two choices.... either source another grey one...or replace the grey one with another matching black one... Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

Can you easily remove the grey one? Should be a part number on the back beginning with 996-xxx-...... Can't tell where you are located, but, buy that part number from a Porsche parts e-seller.

POST 3Original post

Be careful removing the other one. They easily break. My passenger side one is broken, and they are at least $135 each. Passenger side in black is part number 996-563-554-00-A10.
