I ask because the similar Boxster uses a different part number and Pelican offers rebuilt units for it.Note there are also different numbers for auto/manual.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

This is for rennlister EEES. Anyone using an autozone starter with success? Our stock starter is rated at 1.7kW and the autozone one rated at 1.1kW. http://www.autozone.com/batteries-st...96529&cmpid=cj

POST 2Original post

POST 3Original post

step away from VatoZone Walk back into your car and slap yourself. Order a OEM!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Agreed. This is for EEES's no-start troubleshooting thread...just trying to see if the autozone starter itself could be the problem.

POST 5Original post

Just to clarify, is this the correct part number for the Bosch Starter motor? SR-0808 http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item0 I ask because the similar Boxster uses a different part number and Pelican offers rebuilt units for it.Note there are also different numbers for auto/manual. http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item0 By contrast, the linked Autozone/Duralast part is listed as fitting 21 different Porsche models -911 + Boxster.Confused?

If yours a '99, you want a Bosch SR0808N. The "N" means it's new and "X' means it's a reman. Cheapest from Amazon Amazon.com: Bosch SR0808N New Starter: Automotive Amazon.com: Bosch SR0808N New Starter: Automotive

POST 7Original post

I found a local rebuild shop that does alternator and starter rebuilds with bosch electrics and quality bearings (non china) - similar cost to alternator from autozone and 1/2 cost of bosch rebuild and 1/4 cost or less of oem- so far very good. I'm sure they have this in most major cities - good if u don't mind a few day turn around time
