Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello everyone!
I've been knocking around here a bit lately in advance asking questions in advance of this moment...tomorrow, I am picking up my first Porsche!
2000 996 Carrera 4. Guards Red over Savanna Beige full leather. Six speed. Carbon door inserts, shifter, and handbrake. Most importantly: factory XAA aerokit. Some other great options to round out the spec.
One owner, 43,000 miles.
CANNOT WAIT!
Very nice!!! I've owned a Guards Red/Black 996 C2 for a long, long time now and I still love the car. I love the looks of the factory aero kit option, I wish my car had the aero kit. Also, the Beige interior goes really well with the GR exterior IMHO and you're getting some nice interior upgrades as well (3 spoke steering wheel, etc.) Are the shift lever and emergency brake lever carbon fiber?
Best of luck with the new car...hope it serves you as well as mine has treated me.
ACD...that is a great find! Congrats! As an aero owner myself, I think its one of the best looking Porsches....I can never get enough of them....doesn't matter the color
Gorgeous! Congratulations and welcome. Funny but I have the same wheels as ACD693 and also a set like De Jeeper. Maybe I should have my car painted red.
Here you go....SY is my favorite however, seeing yours I think GR is my favorite, actually whatever color Aero I look at last tends to be my favorite....for some reason everything works so nice on them...I personally think that the Taco is a work of art I have seen with no other wing. I know some would debate that but somehow it seems so right on the 996.
Speed Yellow was my favorite color growing up, hands down. Might still be. That was the other color I was looking for. It's just unreal.
Yes - I agree, the aero kit was an absolute must for me. I was looking at a black, one owner, 40k mile 996 before this one and while it was very nice...once I laid me eyes on this, it was all over!
I always loved what you have done with your car....take all of the elements you like of the different generations and make it work FOR YOU! 996.2 Aero with 996.1 Taco and 997 like headlights....to me it works great. I have also don a bit of mix and match what I like. 996.1 Aero with 996.2 rear bumper, wheels and instrument cluster and 997.1 3.8 engine and transmission. All coming together for an individualized package...this is what everyone does on this forum which I love.
Wow...you've been smitten....you were definitely finding some low mileage Aeros...where was the black one and what were they asking for it.
The black one is for sale at Private Collection Motors in Costa Mesa. No aero kit though, that was the big factor. They are asking $26,999 I believe. I drove it and it's very nice, someone wil be lucky to have it. Interior especially was immaculate, like a time capsule.

Nice buy, looks absolutely beautiful! Welcome.
Would love to have the aero kit on my 996.1 also. Checked the price some time ago and it was fairly OK for bumbers and side skirts but wing incl. engine lid was prohibitly high. Better to sell and buy an original aero car.
Love it! 996.1 Looking back, 996.1 aero was really ahead of its time. The aggressive wing and styling is something you see on the higher end, highly desirable GT cars now. 996.1 aero kind of set the trend.
For 99-00 model prices new from Suncoast are in the link below;
$6,495 rear spoiler
$3,395 front bumper
$995 skirts
https://www.suncoastparts.com/category/996G1.html
I would expect if someone were selling used maybe, 25%-50% less depending on condition. That's also assuming you can find someone selling with matching paint color (or anyone crazy enough to part with aero pieces in general).
My 996.2 came with the Aerokit 2 front bumper.
I added the Aerokit 2 side skirts
$650 (Sunset Parts Black Friday sale)
$180 paint & install
I also added a used MAShaw 996.1 rear spoiler
$1050+shipping
$500 for painting & install
$300 for fixed wing wiring
$50 for used fan
under $100 for factory under deck stickers (Mobil1, Don't cross thread coolant cap, vacuum hose routing map, emission information)
Only way anyone could tell that I don't have a factory spoiler is that mine doesn't have "Made in France" molded into it.
Most people would see all the stickers and not even look for the "MiF."
I don't care really though since I don't plan on selling it and I don't care if y'all know it isn't factory!
My car is far from how it left the factory.
Thank you both for the detailed cost data on "going aero", whether genuine OEM or creative alternatives. I tend to agree with Nick's conclusion: "
Better to sell and buy an original aero car." Though Tex's ~$3k total is tempting...
