Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've seen others mention the engine wiring harness from my manual needs to be swapped over but as a dig into this harness and sensors I haven't found any major differences.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good morning rennlisters. I'm currently swapping out the 175k 3.4 in my 99 C4 manual for a 52k 3.4 from an 01 C2 Tiptronic. I've seen others mention the engine wiring harness from my manual needs to be swapped over but as a dig into this harness and sensors I haven't found any major differences. The only additional component I've found is the additional vacuum control solenoid off the vacuum canister for the Tiptronic. Anyone know if this Tiptronic engine wiring harness will pug and play in my manual body? It's in much better condition than the high milage harness on my old engine. PS the 52k tiptronic tansmission is up on eBay w/ no reserve. Thanks! ~Jethro

POST 2Original post

If u r just swap the motor your existing harness and dme will work fine. Just confirm the sendors r the same. If they r not buy the sensor for your year and install in the new motor.
