Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have any photos they can share of a black shifter installed in a gray interior? Thinking about making this change.

POST 2Original post

Here's a few of mine. And this is what was on the car when I bought it.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

@SoCal911t That looks great! Just what I was imagining. Thanks! Did you buy a new center console or paint yours?

POST 4Original post

My Function First weighted black shift **** in my 99 C4 . I also went with a black leather shift boot with red stitching to help break up the Grey interior .

POST 5Original post

The seats were the biggest visual upgrade to break up the sea of gray . The red stitching on the shift boot ties in with the plaid .

I bought a NOS one on Ebay. When I bought the car back in 2017, I decided I wasn't going to do any mods that weren't reversible so I could put it back to stock if I ever wanted to. If I ever sell it, I will include all the original parts.

Ultimate Cupholder! Aren't they great?!? I originally got them for my Z4's but now I use them in all sorts of other cars too.

I think they're great. I bought the first one for the M5 about ten years ago and now also use it in other cars. Looking at the paperwork, the price didn't change over the years either.

POST 10Original post

Here's a black shifter on what is left of my gray interior. Not sure if that helps but interestingly I did add some gray, or at least silver, when I installed the horseshoe but overall it's less and less gray. Things that were gray but now aren't. Steering wheel isn't gray. Driver's seat isn't gray. Center console obviously isn't gray. Center stack surround isn't gray. Gauge binnacle isn't gray anymore. I got fixated on leather airbags , Love them on the three spoke wheel , and had to have one so this one is gray. I like the contrast. Maybe this doesn't qualify as a gray interior anymore.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

@C4911 This is the exact setup I had in my mind!!! You even got the black steering wheel changed out. Can you provide some info on the shifter, center console, etc? Also, how big of a deal was it to replace the steering wheel?

POST 14Original post

I'm not sure what kind of info you are looking for exactly but....there was just too much gray for me so I changed it up. I found the black console, parking brake handle and steering wheel on Ebay. Got the black shifter from my indy who swapped out the steering wheel in less than 10 minutes. Already had the deviated carpet and added coco mats. Hope that helps....

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone know which shifter **** that is?

POST 16Original post

That shifter is a factory Porsche model. Not sure where to find one now, Suncoast Porsche parts used to sell them but no longer listed there. Very pricey if you do find one, generally in the $1500 range

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
