The 997.2 GT3 shift kit is pretty close to perfect for a car used on the road imho.

While checking the Suncoast Parts site, I found two shifter upgrades for the 996 but I can't find the parts number for one of the shifters.

The SSK ruins the easy shifting which makes changing gear such a joy on these cars, all becomes a bit of an effort.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I found a SSK located near me for sale and I'm trying to determine if it's a fair price by comparing it with what's available online. While checking the Suncoast Parts site, I found two shifter upgrades for the 996 but I can't find the parts number for one of the shifters. Would anyone be able to help me confirm the part numbers for the two items linked below?

The first link you posted is the a standard/stock 997 shifter which has a slightly shorter throw than the stock 996. The second link to is the SSK which is the shortest of all the factory shifters. There is also a 997.2 GT3 shift console which isn't as short as the SSK but shorter than the stock 997 shifter.

I believe they are all the same. Just different sellers. The seller I bought from no longer has them.
It looks like this one. You have cut the plastics bushing out the shifter mount and use the aluminum ones provided.

The 997.2 GT3 shifter is the same length as the regular 997 shifter, but it has all metal fittings instead of plastic, so it feels much slicker, more rifle bolt action.

Good to know. I'll probably wait for a GT3 shifter or bite the bullet and buy a new one. Since the 996 is a cabriolet, I'm trying to keep it the perfect road car. I have other cars for a more "visceral" (harsh) ride.
Cheers,
