If I set the car at maximum ride height with the coilovers, which will be about a 1" drop from factory ride height, will I need something like the Rennline front bump steer kit up front and the Rennline adjustable toe arm kit for the back to maintain the factory alignment specs?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'll be installing coilovers soon, and doing a full suspension refresh at the same time. 2003 996 Turbo Car has 101,000 miles. AFAIK - all original suspension components Car is street use only - no track days If I set the car at maximum ride height with the coilovers, which will be about a 1" drop from factory ride height, will I need something like the Rennline front bump steer kit up front and the Rennline adjustable toe arm kit for the back to maintain the factory alignment specs? If the car is only dropped an inch, can I use stock tie rod ends and rear control arms? There's a huge price difference between the non-adjustable stock parts and the Rennline adjustable parts. I'll buy the adjustable, but only if they're necessary. Thanks! Sam

POST 2Original post

All the adjustable stuff helps a lot to dial in your handling with little downside plus labor saving my Ohlins needed some adjustments and now it hugs the curves beautifully

POST 3Original post

The only adjustable part you should need is adjustable rear toe links.

Nola05 - You may not need it for stock alignment numbers, but youll probably, at least want adjustable links for any future sway or camber improvements to take better advantage of your coilovers. I suggest an adjustable rear sway as a minimum. If youre looking for -1.0 front camber and -1.8 rear, you can use standard control arms, links and top mounts. I had this set up with a 20mm-ish drop for a long timedrives great and provides decent tire life. At normal turbo alignment spec, bump steer shouldnt really be in play. Porsche designed the stock suspension components to work down to X73 height. But, you own a Turbo, so this has real good info for your needs. Yep you have to have these to get the right toe in. Also get the kit that eliminates the mickey mouse stock rear toe adjustment

POST 6Original post

You should be fine with stock arms and links if you target X73 specs. I was told I might need adjustable rear toe links when I lowered my 2003 C2 by ~35mm but that was not the case as the stock eccentric toe adjustment had plenty of range. No argument though that adjustable rear toe links are much easier to work with but for a street car I would save my money.

These are the parts I'm looking at. Is there another kit that I should be looking at too? https://www.rennline.com/adjustable-...m-kit-sku-s62/

Sorry, pretty old website. But search Mikelly on 6speedonline in turbo/gt2 section. The same article is there.

That's what I have. There are other places to get a similar part such as Elephant Racing, so pick the one you like best. Stay away from ebay specials, they are not stout enough for this application.

POST 11Original post

Quotes source post: 18466271

You need these also. They disable the stock adjustment. https://tarett.com/products/locking-...t-link-lkplt01 I couldn't get the toe with the stock adjusters I did all my alignment myself with toe plates etc. after my ohlins install. The rear end toe was very fussy. I trust only one shop and that's Custom alignment in Mt View California.....and I'm not in California anymore

POST 12Original post

Replaced my shocks with PSS10's everything else is stock and I am at GT2 height. I've done track days and autocross no problems. Mine is a C4S same as your TT.
