Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Install function first street style bushing supports (I dont believe this is recommended for broken mounts) and reviews are thin for the orange versions.

Replace the bushings in the carrier with something like these from Cantrell (street version).

Im learning towards just replacing with the factory bushing.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I havent looked at it directly but am confident that my bushings are broken and need replacement based on shifter feel and clunking.
I believe I have the carrier side mounted bushings as my car is a 996.2 (6 speed).
The options I see are as follows:
1. Replace the entire carrier assembly:

Am I correct that I have the carrier mounted style bushings? Whats the consensus between these options? Any options Im missing?
Well then there's this. It can be messy if you're not careful, but it works.
Window-Weld Super Fast Urethane, Black, 10.5 fl oz Cartridge 08609: Advance Auto Parts
I did it ~6 years ago and it's held up fine. The durometer is about the same as the original. There's various internet articles, videos on using it for engine and transmission mounts; check it out. If you decide to try it, wear disposable gloves. It can be messy, but can be trimmed after it sets.
Thanks. Ive messed with the same type of stuff for other purposes and agree that its messy.
if anyone has reviews on the other 2 options, I appreciate it. I believe the 997 carrier is considered an upgrade. Reviews are thin on the green bushings but what Ive read seems positive
I don't think that's the transmission mount that you have. I have a 2004 C4S, but that and I thought the rear wheel only drive cars have a single under transmission bushing that has to be pressed out of the main transmission housing.

I know your link says that it fits your car, but when I search for your car, I also get the single under transmission mount:

I suppose that someone who has done this with a car like yours will have to weigh in.
My 2003 C2 6 speed definitely does NOT have a mount like shown. Mine is a single mount, that has to be pressed out to replace. I “beleive” the linked mount is for a Metzger based setup (Turbo, GT3, GT2)
Just noticed, the Pelican link is for an automatic...hence the difference
