Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi all, new here so be gentle! i have just rebuilt my 2001 3.4 911 the engine now starts but only runs on 1 bank?!? i have checked the following cam timing spark injector wiring and coil wiring do any of you have any ideas? many thanks matt

POST 3Original post

I'll steal this one from Jake...did you rotate the crank 360 degree after you timed one bank and before you timed the other bank?

It's easy to verify. Put the engine in TDC cyl#1, the cam lock tool should only be able to fit in the cams on one of the banks. If it can slide in both banks, you have a problem. Normally you need to turn the crank 360 before the tool can fit the other bank. Another way is to verify compression of each cylinder when you rotate the crankshaft. The compression sequence (every 120 degree on the crankshaft) should follow the firing order 1-6-2-4-3-5.
