Have you checked the fuses yet and/or checked the electrical connector to the pump to make sure it's not corroded, etc?

BTW, I'm guessing it would be roughly 3 or 4 hundred to have it done at my local repair shop.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys. It's been a very long time since I've been on here. I had to re-register and I'm using my original username - must've gotten the boot!
Anyway, I have a '99 C2 and my windshield washer is not working. The headlight washer does work, although the housings are both cracked and it has literally ejected 3 of the 4 nozzle ***** so it just spays in a nice fountain fashion. I'm pretty sure it is the same pump for both so does anyone have any ideas why the HL spray works but not the WS washer??? I've disassembled part of the lines to see if there was a blockage but nothing - lines are fine and I can blow through them clearly, nothing comes out of the nozzles at the back of the boot. There is wiring hooked up to them - is that a heating type element to prevent freezing?
Any good thoughts or ideas would be helpful. I can't get her safety checked as it fails due to the WS washer not working...
You should be able to hear the pump running. Just stand outside the car and fold the wipers forward so they don't scrape on your dry windshield, and reach in and hold the WS squirter switch. If you hear it running, but no water comes out, hold it for awhile and see if any puddles develop in or under the car.
Maybe a parts diagram will show us the answer on two pumps or one...
Yup, the windshield washer pump is 996.628.172.00, separate from the HL pump, 996.624.502.00. I found this info on DC Auto's parts diagrams:

Thanks for the reply. No sound from pump when lever depressed. But the HL washer works - are they separate pumps? If it is the same pump do I have a possible switch issue on the steering column? It is a pushing forward on the same lever that activates the HL pump - so weird.
Well it was definitely the windshield washer pump. It was a major PITA pulling the wheel and wheel-well liner to get to it but It was relatively easy to replace. No leaks and works perfectly as new. Thanks for the tips, Gentlemen!
BTW, I'm guessing it would be roughly 3 or 4 hundred to have it done at my local repair shop. I did it for the cost of the pump on eBay for $28 with free shipping. Not too shabby!
BUMP
Didn't want to start a completely new thread for this, but my windshield washer fluid nozzles are only spraying about 3-4" when I pull the lever. I've tried clearing any debris that may have gotten into the nozzle hole, no luck. As it is the spray isn't reaching my windshield at all.
Time for a new pump perhaps?
