Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As we all know, the left driver side bolster of the seat gets the most wear. Is it possible to swap it over to the passenger side and balance the wear? Of course the electrics for seat angle and back/front slide would still have to remain functional.

POST 2Original post

The worst problem is the electric seat controls would probably be almost unusable - tucked down between the seat and center tunnel. And I'm not certain where the clasp for the seat belt is. If it's attached to the seat, it would have to be swapped from one side to the other. Instead of all this trouble, go to a interior re-finishing shop (upholstery) and perhaps they can refinish your driver's side bolster.

POST 3Original post

I have redone my seats. You can swap the seat backs but not the bottoms. It would involve removing the seats and taking them apart. And re running some wires depending on the options.

POST 4Original post

I did this on my old Range Rover and it only took a couple hours: Take off both the front seats. The leather is held on by hognose clips. You basically just take the leather off both seats and swap them. I have no idea if this will work or not on the 996 but if the leather patterns are the same it's the best way to do this.
