Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had H&R springs installed about a month ago. I've been noticing that the rear passenger side is about 1/2" higher than the driver's side rear and that the front passenger side is about 1/4" higher than the other front side. Is this an error in the installation? How could one side be higher than the other? Do I need to have the garage check things again? Thanks for your help!

POST 2Original post

When I had my H&R Coilover kit insalled, the mechanic had me sit in the car when doing certain ride-height adjustments. If anything, the passenger side should be a bit lower when no one is sitting in the car, so that when the driver is sitting in his seat, the passenger side is almost even or slightly higher.

POST 3Original post

The lesser the quality of the spring, the more and sooner it will settle, or lose its torsion.

POST 4Original post

even the best springs have a 'break in period' - usually about 2-3thousand miles, at that point, you should get an alignment done again.

POST 5Original post

the height difference sounds really strange. even given a settling period, the difference you're talking about is EXTREME! i'd have it checked out ASAP. my H&Rs really didn't settle much, and the car was level from the start. even with me in the driver's seat (270 pounds), the car sat level.

POST 7Original post

get someone else to do it, duh... a mechanic at the shop perhaps, or a friend, you do have friends don't you

POST 8Original post

Duh... It's a silly joke, you guys take things so seriously.

POST 9Original post

It sounds like your shop did a sloppy job on installation. I would take it back or to another shop and have the car corner-balanced and realigned. Springs will settle but fairly evenly and not that much. Jim

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm taking the car back in this week. I took the rear tire off to get a better look at the spring and it looks like it isn't fully seated. If you look at the car from the rear, the entire passenger side looks high, as if a 500 lb. fat guy was driving.....

POST 11Original post

Reviving an old post. Exact same situation I have with my vogtland spring install, taking it back in soon. Did you find out what it was??
