Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A poll was requested on the previous thread. Here it is.

POST 3Original post

I think they all look good but I'm partial towards my 99. The turbo looks really good though.

POST 4Original post

I'd say C4S, but don't see it listed, unless C4 counts? C4S (in my biased opinion) is still one of the all-time great 'lookers' to come from Porsche. Top 5 easy, top 3 in the right color.

POST 5Original post

I love my 996.1, but i voted for the turbo. If there was a 996.1 GT3 option, I probably would've voted for that.

POST 6Original post

I'd add the following to your poll: 996.2 Carrera 4S 996.1 C2/C4 with aerokit 996.2 C2/C4 with aerokit You could consider adding 996.2 C4S with aerokit, but they are so unusual that I doubt most people here have ever seen one. The two 996 variants that look the best in my opinion aren't in your poll (996.2 C4S and 996.1 C2 with factory aerokit).

POST 7Original post

i am a huge fan of 996s both .1 and .2 and i agree that the C4S is among the best however, i have been on a quest to making the best of all of the 996s. Here are the pieces... .1 base car .1 Aero - front bumper, skirts and wing (love taco) .2 Rear bumper and bumperettes .2 GT3 splitter .2 GT3 Wheels amber ectomy This combination beats even the C4S for me. .

I don't think polls are editable. If you know how to, that'd be a great help.

POST 10Original post

Best looking one....the one YOU have...(Triple Black 03 Cab)

POST 12Original post

MK1 Aero Kit (GT3) MK2 Widebody Aero Kit (C4S, Turbo, GT2) I prefer the look of MK1 GT3 over the MK2 GT3

POST 13Original post

The poll should have included: - the Targa: which has a certain attractive elegance - Cabs: which to my eye on the 996 never look as good as coupes.

POST 14Original post

It's like a quarter of the poll it could have been. Add the missing models and restart please.

What? I always thought it was beerholder. You Tube

POST 17Original post

Missing the C4S in here. Also the look with the factory aerokit changes the looks quite a bit. Especially with the 996.1 C2, which I think looks amazing with the factory aerokit.

996 C4S stands out as the best looking 996.
