Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went to replace the cabin filter and was horrified at what the mice had done. It was too disgusting to take a before photo. I made a new screen and tried to raise this one up a little bit to make it less hospitable to my undesirable little friends. Time will tell if it helps. At least it keeps them out of the interior.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im thinking about adding a spiky topcoat of the mesh to see if that helps. Mouse repellant helped a little but not enough.

POST 4Original post

Is there supposed to be a cover over the cabin filter? When I changed mine there was nothing on top of it. I did find a mysterious latch that went to nowhere. Mice suck. If you put a trap there it will attract more. They don't pass on learned behavior. I fought (and mostly lost) with mice for years when I kept my 944 in a portable garage. They ate headlight wiring, crapped all over the intake manifold, ate my air filter. They suck! Luckily now I have a garage to keep the 996 in, and so far, no rodents.

Noticed the same on my car yesterday. I was wondering the same thing. Looked strange just having an exposed filter like that.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, after making 500+ snips and 1100+ bends, lets see if the critters still call it home.

You need to eradicate the little bastards! I bet it's still in your car somewhere.

POST 8Original post

I have had the same problem twice within the last 9 months...now trying the Grampa Gus mouse repellent thing (can’t believe I just wrote that), sincerely hope it helps!
