Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

3/98 911 Carrera 2, 6mt. For the last several weeks, whenever I turn on the lights, either parking/fog lights, or full headlights, the windows roll down. While the lights are on, they will not roll up. Thankfully I have not been caught in the rain, as I daily drive this baby. Of course that will probably happen later today...now

POST 2Original post

Ha, that is frustrating...ask me how I know. I've seen this before and normally it is an electrical problem at the window switch. Broken wires or faulty switches can cause this. The power for the switch backlight circuit is entering the window down circuit. Check all your wires going to the window switches to make sure they are in good shape. Pull the connectors off both window switches and see if that prevents the windows from rolling down when you turn on your lights. Then connect one switch at a time to figure out which switch might be faulty. If it is the switch itself, you can leave it unplugged until you get a replacement.

could try pulling fuse D1 front power windows if in a bind

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Great suggestions guys. Actually the passenger side switch has been a bit hard to push for awhile now. Thanks for the quick help, I'll dig into it tonight after work
