Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not really 996 content, but this is really the only forum I visit here... I was googling around a bit for some info on a 997 I'm going to try and look at tomorrow and ran into this build sheet...

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

of course if I was spending a million dollars on a 918 with the Weissach package, it would have to be in the Martini colors (paintless, thin film coating)

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Though for a million bones, I think I'd buy 10 white Cayman GTS's, get the martini graphics put on them along with number meatballs 1-10 and rent out the local track twice a year for me and 20 or so friends... *way* more fun than a 918 that you could probably never really appreciate the capabilities of.

POST 6Original post

Guys, you are missing two key points: 1. It's a hybrid. So, eventually it will pay for itself. Therefore, you didn't SPEND a million buying this car, you MADE a million. 2. It has the key painted to match.

And for a miserly $1,400 too. What a snip of a price - I wonder if there is any profit in that?

POST 8Original post

MMMmmmm ........... I think I will take two ....................

POST 9Original post

Nice. The optional paint job on the 918 costs more than my 996.

What about the $26K for some onyx......really. I like the idea of 10 Cayman GTS's. Can you imagine the fun that would be?

POST 11Original post

That's pretty much inline with their pricing of late. What other manufacturers sell $8k+ seats? Also you too can have your own OEM Martini stripe kit for your ride for only $1200.

POST 12Original post

I like the $1700 floor mats and the $1800 seat belt stripes.

POST 13Original post

I think the $26k is for the silver piping in the interior, not the paint job.

POST 14Original post

What about the IMSB and the RMS aftermarket upgrade? I didn't see them included?

POST 15Original post

http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...GT3EXTERIORACC Someone get one for their 996.

POST 16Original post

Maybe it's one of these 997's I think Jalopnik called it the most expensive car option since it costs base price 918 + base price special edition 997 turbo. You had to spend ~ $1 million to get one of these.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow, that turbo is a special kind of ugly. Looks like a rebadged eBay special... Yes, it came from Porsche, but WTF, why would you want 918 decals on your 911? So you can reply to the pimple-faced kid at the gas station who asks: "Is that a 918?", ' Why no, but my million dollar supercar is in the mail. And do you have any grey poupon?"

POST 18Original post

^^^ Ha, I agree. Prolly 0.01% of people who see that car have any idea what the "Edition 918 Spyder" means. Of course, most likely the guy driving one is hanging out with that 0.01%.

POST 19Original post

I saw a red 918 in North Scottsdale today. It was driving slow as ****.
