I replaced my old battery on my beautiful porsche 996 and now the radio is prompting me to enter the 4 digit code...which I can't find anywhere.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I did not get a manual with my car nor the radio manual nor the radio code. I have a PDF for the radio manual I found on the web. wyovino / Bill gave me an extra copy of my car manual (Thanks again Bill). Next was the radio code. No immediate need since my radio was working fine. That was until I got my car back from my Mechanic who had to disconnect the battery for some of the work he needed to do. I called the original selling dealer and gave them my VIN. They gave me the code at no cost. With a little searching in the right/wrong places I also came across a site that has a Java Decoder. It had the same number. Since I am not sure if it meets with the code of conduct on this forum I am not posting it until I get the official OK. If you need it in the mean time feel free to PM me.
Best,
Peter
I had no radio code either(same radio), so I went(4 years ago) to my local Porsche/Audi dealer where they charged me $50 for the code. It was worth it to me to be able to use my radio...it's also nice to save $50.
I have a 996 with a tape player / remote CD radio ( I have the code for it) I just bought a CDR 220 on ebay to replace it and ill need a code for it where is this website?

Hi Loren my CDR220 model be6625 serial number is 15000773. Radio is original to my '02 Boxster S. Appreciate your time to look up the unlock code - thanks!
Downloaded a free copy of the CDR220 manual and then bought a real copy of the manual off of eBay later.
Got the radio code free from my dealer when they disconnected the battery to do some work and I need it to restart the radio.
New to the site, searching for the 4 digit code to my CDR 220 radio:

Take the battery out for the winter here in New York. Thanks
Hi there,
I disconnected my battery this morning to try and reset my computers. I just bought my first 996 Carrera and loved the way the Becker was working. Greatly appreciate your help in retrieving radio code.
I tried doing this thru the website

Dan..I'm a 78 yr. old 2001 996 owner (1st Porsche) who hasn't posted much on Rennlist because I have nothing informative to offer. I hope that doesn't make me completely unworthy of someone's help. My dealer can't /won't
help and I can't locate anyone else that is able to assist.....not even for money. If you don't wish to help me, then please give me, or other code challenged owners, the contact info for the other elusive helpers.
Radio CR-220/CD-220 Model 4462 Serial # Y5040678 Dealer supplied code .. = 9530...FAILED !
The cause of the code loss was a battery swap.
