Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2002 targa. Got new tires 2 years ago and have had a slow leak in the rear driver side tire on and off. Have taken it back to NTB twice and they keep telling me that the tire is good and that the leak may be because of degradation of the inside of the wheel. Just curious if anyone else has had a similar issue and if so what was the fix?

POST 2Original post

I had a similar problem with a wheel when I first bought my car. At that time, it had chrome plated rims and the plating was delaminating from the rim on one of my wheels. I've since changed rims and have no further issues. Good luck

Dismount the tire, take a careful look for small cracks where the tire meets the wheel. If nothing found, take a wire wheel to all the areas where the tire seats. Then spray some good primer over it. That should fix it, if not, either live with it or get a new wheel.

Had the same thing happen with a Mercedes with chrome wheels. Took to shop, removed tires, stripped chrome at bead and polished. About $50 a tire.

POST 5Original post

I've had that issue. Had to repair the wheel. Tire shop should be able to see the issue with the wheel.
