Ended up doing the oil change today and installed the LN filter adapter.

- Or wait another 1,500 miles then change the oil and send in the Liquimoly sample?

Suggestion
If you are changing oil brands you might as well just change it now, but I would still send the LM sample out for a UOA.
Replace oil today and send in the liquimoly sample

- Should I change my oil today and send in the Liquimoly sample to find out ASAP what might be up with this engine?

Suggestion
Once you change to DT, that oil will be slightly contaminated with LM that was in there before so it may not be the worst idea to run so BR30 break in oil for 200 miles as it's compatible with DT40.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys! Question for you.
I bought my 2004 996 AE a few weeks ago. The PO had done the oil in June at 109,662 miles per documentation. Liquimoly 5w-40.
I'm at 111,111 miles today and ordered a case of DT40 and oil filter adapter kit from LN. I also ordered an oil test.
Question:
- Should I change my oil today and send in the Liquimoly sample to find out ASAP what might be up with this engine?
- Or wait another 1,500 miles then change the oil and send in the Liquimoly sample?
- Or change to DT40 today, then wait and send in a DT40 sample after my next oil change?
Pic for attention.
Congrats on the 40th. If you have proof that the oil change was actually done, I'd drive it a bit more to confirm you're not consuming any oil. That's always a good data point to have. I'd try to put on at least 3k miles before sending it in to get a baseline. Once you change to DT, that oil will be slightly contaminated with LM that was in there before so it may not be the worst idea to run so BR30 break in oil for 200 miles as it's compatible with DT40.
If you are changing oil brands you might as well just change it now, but I would still send the LM sample out for a UOA. I would do another change after a short interval, 1000-1500 miles, and do a UOA on the partially mixed oils though I wouldn't put much stock in the results. Then do regular 6 month or 3k mile changes with DT and get a UOA every time.
Most UOA threads and expert opinions seem to stress that unless something is very wrong (high fuel in oil, coolant in oil, metal in oil), that the value of UOA comes from trends over time.
I like to start my ownership of a car with fresh fluids as much as possible. So, for me, if everything is good and I don't have any concerns, I would change to DT40, wait 3k or so, and then get tested. That will be your first data point for future trends. Or put some more miles on the LM first.
Testing current oil, mixed oil, break in oil, etc, would seem to me highly optional based on your appetite for more tests with potentially uncertain value, and if you have current concerns.
But I've been known to be wrong. Just ask the Mrs.

Oil pressure actually seems to have improved slightly, although dumbass me overfilled by a couple tenths of a quart apparently.
Anyway, the old oil looked mostly ok. I found a couple of very tiny sub-mm sparkly bits.. but only just barely. Gonna send in a sample I captured for some initial peace of mind.
Going for my first real significant shakedown cruise this weekend of a few hundred miles and a climb up Mount Lemmon here in Arizona.
